flower power!

There's a very sad story about how "flower power" has ended up, lol! I created it for a particular application, which, for one reason or another didn't work out the way it was supposed to :o(... (ok, if you must have the truth, it was my own stupidity, but it's still tragic!)
I invented a lot of new swear words when I realised what had happened, but sadly even amazing new swearwords won't create an extra inch of fabric where it just doesn't exist! Anyway, I thought I'd show off the flower anyway! It's just not on the nappy it was supposed to be on!

One for the boys (or the girls)...

...and something for Mum...

April Theme

Well the Gossamer Dreams Girls were kept super busy in March with the Great Down Under Nappy Hunt and are well and truly exhausted. Stacey and Bek didn't let the team down with twisted and evil nappy hunts, wonder what they are cooking up for the September Hunt.

But onward and upward and to that end the April Stocking Theme is

Outer Space

The first offering in the blog is from me - a gorgeously stunning piece of fabric that I picked up recently, that ties in beautifully with this month's theme. It's an OOP Michael Millar fabric. I could only get 1/2 yard, so these items will be OOAK and marked as such. They are the cutest little Tots in Space. This one is a fitted Auriel, with lemon bamboo velour inner. Keep your eyes peeled for more Gossamer Dreams Goodness over the next few days.

How cute are those tots?

Stocking is Wednesday the 15th April at 8pm, with previews going up at 8am. Don't forget the items are yours when you get them into your cart - we give you time to checkout. Alot of these items there are only one of, so it's still first to the cart :)

"galumph" went the little green frog one day...

a joint effort...

Abundance

.
.

Green speaks to me of natural beauty
- of the joy, the chaos and the abundance of nature.
Heres just a tiny peek of something designed with that vision.

Toad-ally yours

Something for the bigger cherub :)

It's not that easy being green

I love Kermit the Frog's rendition of that song. Anyone remember?
If you can't remember all the words here's the frog himself.

Green is such a cool, calming colour. We like it so much we have devoted an entire stocking to it!
Our stocking will take place on the 15th as usual - just in time to get you in the mood for St Patrick's Day on the 17th.

We hope you enjoy our offerings this month...especially those of our very talented guest WAHM.

Here's a part of a set I'm cooking up this week.

MMM, Cupcake Goodness

I'll be auctioning this little treasure off on Sunday at the stocking, to raise funds for the Bushfire/Flood victims. I'll have extra goodies to go in the auction if they auction hits certain levels, full details on Gossamer Dreams on Sunday. So you might just get the skirt, or you might get nappy/skirt, or babylegs/skirt. Just keep bidding and you'll end up with a gorgeous packet of goodies, with the funds going to a worthy cause.

This skirt is made from the Flipsy skirt pattern by Make it Perfect

It's fully reversible - so two skirts for the price of one and it's ever so cute.

Check out the gorgeous hem detail and the cute heart shaped buttons.

The platties are multiplying!

Here's another one :)

Possum Pouches' Australia

Working with the theme My Australia was easy for me as I love everything about my country. However I have chosen to work within the endangered/threatened/at risk category. Pressure of other comitments means I had to cut back on my original list but am putting the final touches to some items, based on animals or places that are under some sort of threat, whether from global warming, loss of habitat, or human intervention or a combination of many causes.I had a lot of pleasure putting them together based on this theme.

A few changes

We've decided after much discussion to move the Gossamer Dreams store to a Congo Cart. Most of you know well how to use Congo Cart and it will also overcome the issue of overselling of products.

Please make note of a couple of points :-

Items are yours when carted however they will remain in your cart for only 5 minutes. Therefore you must checkout within the 5 minute timeframe to retain your products. If you do not checkout in this time, they will return to stock

Please check store listings carefully - some items will have postage included and others will have posted added on checkout.

Hyena policy - we are more than happy for you to Hyena on behalf of another, however, please make it clear in your comments, if the item is to be sent to another person. We will not resend invoices. Invoices will be sent to the purchaser as per the details listed in your purchase invoice.

The Flag

The first of the Cherub's Kiss offerings for January. I'm very proud to be an Australian, so the flag was of course the first thing that came to mind.

It's a denim fitted, with lush red velour inner.

All the parts of the applique have been freehand drawn by me, and then appliqued one at a time with satin stitch on the machine.

Swimming betweeen the flags

Well here we are in 2009! Here's hoping you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. We are all set to kick off the year with a fabulous stocking on the 15th. This month our theme is
My Australia. All the Gossamer Dreams contributors have been musing on what Australia means to us.
Here's a peek at the first offering from Bits for Bots. We had our first beach day of the summer not long ago and I take my hat off to our awesome Surf Lifesavers who volunteer their time to keep us safe. Here's a soft and squishy bamboo velour fitted for all those beach babies.

My camera is back

Some more squishy goodness for the littlest member of your family!

soft and squishy

yep, the theme for the month might be pure and natural, but I reckon in many ways that's just another way of saying soft and squishy nappy goodness!!

here's a sneak peek at what's coming from me...

Crikey!!!!

As 15th Nov is Steve Irwin Day, once again I have one Crikey set for sale. As always proceeds of sales from Crikey items goes to Conservation Organisations with which Australia Zoo is affiliated.

Lush Newborn Goodies

Not completely finished, but can you guess what they are?

I just want to sit and pat them all day, but my littlies have other ideas lol!!

The Gossamer Dreams Team has also decided to take a break for the month of December to come back refreshed with lots of new goodies for January. So this November stocking will be the last for the year.

Nappy Hunt Prize

Because I was a naughty girl, I forgot to post these photos - tut tut, but anyways here is the Gossamer Dreams Nappy Hunt Prize.

A small soaker from Possum Pouches
A trio of wee babies from Bits for Bots
A minky keyring from Pookey Pockets
and a newborn raphael from Cherub's Kiss.

Nappy Hunt prizes will be going out in the next day or so. All winners will be notified by email when the prizes have been sent. The delay has been waiting for some of the winners to confirm their postal address. It's an extremely large post job, so Shane and I do it together and in one day, rather than make countless trips to the post office.

And what you've all be waiting for the details of the November stocking.

November's Stocking is PURE and NATURAL.

With an emphasis on pure and natural fibres using minimal synethics.

I'll be back a wee bit later with some of my goodies, and to me there is nothing more pure and natural than a wee bairn. So most of my stocked items, will be for the teeniest little cherubs :)

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree......

Here's a little something I finshed today. Tuck it away till Christmas morning or bring it out early to carry precious gifts, cards or home baked goodies. This little reversable bag comes with two wee babies (because they get lonely on their own).

Here come Santa Claus.

This month's theme is Christmas and here's just a sneek peak of one of the Cherub's Kiss offerings. Something for a little 1 yo girl :) Retro Christmas theme from Michael Millar.

And as always nothing dull and boring from Cherub's Kiss. Keep an eye out for bright and vibrant Laurel Birch Christmas prints. Stand out from the crowd with these goodies. More photos to come.

Mandy has created a stunning OOAK woolen bag which we are proud to feature as part of our 'Animalia' stocking this month at Gossamer Dreams.

Her applique designs also feature on a number of Malden Mills fleece AI2's also up for offer this month.

Wednesday, September 10, 2008

Hoot hoot!

I love this fabric and look for any excuse to use it.
In a little departure from nappies I've made a lined and gusseted bag just perfect for a little one. It's a great fit in my 4 year old (who declined to be photographed today) and also fits over my shoulder!
